We talked English with a Chinese girl
On Thursday February 1st 2018, a Chinese girl came in our class. We interviewed her in English.
First, she lives in Zhuhai, it is in Guangdong, in China.
Moreover, she speaks English (it is one important language in China) and German (she has studied in Germany).
Then, she is twenty-one years old. Her name is Lena in Europe but in China, her name means ‘’thank you, poetry and rain“.
After that, her favourite chinese food is hot pot and in France, her favourite food is chocolate mousse.
Hot pot is a Chinese soup containing a variety of East Asian foodstuffs and ingredients, prepared with a simmering pot of soup stock at the dining table.
Lena hasn’t got any pets because her parents don’t want to. Cats are considered as poisonous in China. Her favourite country is France but she doesn’t like Paris because she was stolen there.
Then, Lena has got two best friends, their names are Nathalie and Christophe. She has got some hobbies such as dancing and reading.
Next, Lena loves travelling. She has already travelled in Korea, Japan, Norway, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Malta, Czech Republic and France.
Finally, we talked about stereotypes. Some Chinese people eat dogs BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. Lena has never eaten dogs ! They do not eat cats.

Marché de la Poésie
Dans le cadre du 5ème Marché de la Poésie de Jeunesse de Tinqueux et d’un échange avec le Centre de Création pour l’Enfance, les élèves de 5B et de 5C de M. Massa, ont rencontré au CDI, le vendredi 9 février 2018, un poète : Bruno DOUCET. Les élèves ont échangé avec le poète en posant des questions, ils ont écouté les poèmes de l’artiste et ils ont pu lire leurs créations poétiques. Les élèves sont sortis ravis de cet échange.
Par ailleurs, deux poètes Pierre SOLETTI et Vincent THOLOMÉ, sont venus, au collège le mardi 6 février 2018, pour de la « Poésie en Déambulation » : une balade poétique, dans l’établissement, à la rencontre de huit classes, pour promouvoir l’art et la poésie. « Quand la Poésie Va, tout va ! »
An American Captain at school on Feb 8th 2018
On Thursday, February 8th 2018, at Paulette Billa school, for our aeronautics project (EPI), we met a French pilot who works for an American airline company called Spirit, in the USA and who lives in Columbus, Ohio. His name is Edouard Petit.
First, he watched the movie called ‘Sully’ with us. He explained why he considered Captain Sully as a hero. By deciding to sea-land on the Hudson river, Sully saved all the passengers of his plane AND he didn’t make any more victims on the ground.
Then, we asked him some questions for more information about his job and carreer. We discovered the rules of pilots in the USA which are less strict than French rules. That’s why he left to the USA, at the age of 19 (after studying in Reims), to fulfill his dreams to become a captain. This is what we called the American Dream. He told us the importance of learning English at school. As for him, he speaks many languages : English, French and a little Spanish.
Finally, he asked us questions too. For example : ‘Have you ever been scared in a plane ?’ and ‘Have you ever travelled by plane ?’.
