Our American assistant will stay 7 months in Reims, until the end of April. She came into our English class. She can speak French (because she has studied it for 8 years) but we interviewed her in English because she’s here to teach English at school.

First, her full name is Sarah Hubert. She was born on July 11th, 1994 so she is 23 years old. She lives in Seattle (Washington) in the USA. She reminded us not to get the State of Washington and the city of Washington D.C mixed up. She doesn’t live in Washington D.C. This is where the White House is ! She brought some pictures of Seattle : the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, the football stadium, the public market center (which is a multiple-level market selling fruit, fish, flowers, gifts…) and the rocky beaches. Seattle is also Amazon’s and Starbucks’ birthplace.

Then, she has got one sister whose name is Mary and who is 26. Her mother’s name is Liz and her father who is called Bob is an engineer. They live in Woodinville where there are a lot of lavender fields, pine trees and some historic buildings. Sarah and Eva have been friends since they are 5 years old. Next holidays (in October), they will visit Greece together. Last holidays (the Summer holidays), Sarah went to Columbia in South America for her cousin’s wedding. She has already visited many countries : Czech Republic, Canada, Spain, Ireland, England, Italy, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. But her favourite places are China and France (for countries) and Stockholm and San Diego, California (for cities). She loves French people because she thinks they are welcoming, warm and kind. They are less talkative than American people and they respect other people ‘s opinions.

After that, Sarah is not a student anymore. She studied theater, music and French at Pacific Lutheran Univeristy in Tacoma, Washington. We saw a picture of her when she graduated at college wearing the cap and the gown. She wants to become a college professor.

Finally, she loves singing (in a choir). This is her main hobby. She listens to rap music and alternative rock music but her favourite song is ‘The light’ sung by Regina Spektor. She likes fall (autumn), the blue colour, Fridays and chocolate ! She is also keen on running and playing soccer (she used to play soccer). As far as movies are concerned, she enjoys watching the musical comedy film ‘Mamma Mia’ and she is fond of the actress, Meryl Streep. She is crazy about Harry Potter and she is interested in kids books such as ‘Ella enchanted’ written by Gail Carson Levine. She likes dogs whereas she can’t stand tarentulas (spiders). And she doesn’t play any video games.
